THE SHARED VISION: Quality Critical Access Hospitals that can keep and attract skilled health care professionals are vital to the quality of life in small town America. This multi-phase project transforms a 1950's hospital into a modern medical center. At the outset the architect, working with Administrator Scott Thoreson, FACHE, devised a Critical Access Hospital concept designed for efficiency, flexibility and patient-centered care.
THE INNOVATIVE DESIGN: Seamless integration of new construction with the existing facility is accomplished as funding becomes available. The process began with the merger of a four doctor clinic into the hospital setting. Based on the project concept, Radiology, Laboratory, Business, Health Information and Patient Registration are shared.
