Projects : Faith : Sacred Spaces

Because of our vast experience working with church-related space, we are often asked to create sacred spaces for worship and reflection in other facilties. PROJECT TURNABOUT \| CHAPEL OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD \| SOUTHWESTERN MN SYNOD Chapel of the Good Shepherd St. John's Lutheran Home, Springfield, MN THE SHARED VISION: A chapel to provide the residents of St. John’s Home with a desirable setting for religious services in an area that must also serve other functions. THE INNOVATIVE DESIGN: A small chapel permanently occupies a portion of a multipurpose room. The room is designed with operable partitions allowing multiple and simultaneous uses. Light switching allows for multiple illumination levels for differing activities. A playful ceiling grid enhances the design while providing for indirect lighting and operable wall partition tracks. Views of the chancel are maintained throughout the space.
	< Indirect lighting cuts down on glare and adds to a worshipful feeling.
	< The chapel contains all the liturgical necessities for services including a baptismal font.
