THE SHARED VISION: An efficient, flexible
chemical distribution center supporting the company’s
business in the Red River Valley which meets the requirements
established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Building
Code, Fire Code, and insurance industry.
THE INNOVATIVE DESIGN: Flexibility is
addressed allowing the facility to deal easily with
a continually changing inventory and to allow for expansion
in three directions while keeping the heart of the building,
the shipping and receiving area, unaffected. The site
plan takes into account the unique flooding problems
of the Fargo area with valved drains leading off the
site and a storm water retention pond developed on the
site.

< Large open
spans give the owner many options for stacking chemicals
and allow space for operating a skidsteer.
< A containment
pit is incorporated in the event of a large chemical
spill of bulk tanks.
< The concrete
is poured in a manner that would keep leaking chemicals
contained within the immediate area of the spill.
