Bethesda Pleasant View/Sunrise Village

THE SHARED VISION: To provide additional Assisted Living units and improve personal and community living spaces.

THE INNOVATIVE DESIGN: ‘Homey’ touches improve existing spaces and new units. A “town square” common area is created which links old and new facilities.

< Views from the addition take advantage of surrounding natural beauty

< A cozy den welcomes smaller, more intimate gatherings than the existing living room. Multiple lighting choices are given to the users.

< The dining room is expanded to accomodate the extended family of residents. Finishes are upgraded. Existing furniture and additional pieces compliment the finishes.

< Alcoves off the main hallway create a rhythm within the space. They help orientation in the space as the alcoves occur in three different color schemes. Residents are encouraged to personalize the alcove as their front "stoop".

< One goal of this project was to create a "town square" which links the new and existing residents. A space was created that would allow people to get to know each other. The den, the multi-purpose room, dining room and living room are located directly off this space.
